Tecumseh LEV120 No power/stalling
Hi all,
I have an old Toro 20018 with a Tecumseh LEV120 that starts easily after using the priming the bulb but quickly starts to stutter and finally stalls. I have noticed that I can keep it running if I reach down and hit the primer bulb every few seconds. Any idea what I might be able to do to fix it?
Thanks,
Sam

Pretty much a fuel problem. If there is a fuel pump, detach the line from the tank to it and get a good fuel flow either by changing filter, lines, or clean out the tank.
If you get a good flow to a pump and nothing out of it, then it may have to be replaced.
If no pump, then do the same thing at the carb back to the tank. When good with the fuel flow, take the bowl off the carburetor and clean the bowl nut. There's a small hole on the nut that gets plugged and is a little hard to see, but needs cleaned out.
Check the workings of the float/float valve for opening and closing the flow of fuel to the bowl.
Then put a little Sea Foam or some other cleaner in the fuel for the first couple of tanks to clean everything else up and that should do it.
