Carb needle valve for Briggs engine

I'm working a Briggs carburetor engine model #42a707 2238E1 0006015a
carburetor number is 692812 27-531 0229. I cleaned the carburetor and put a new kit in it. Well the problem is the needle that came with the kit is wrong. All the web sites say it is a replaceable seat. Wrong. This one is not. HELP !!!
The needle that came with the kit is too short but it looked the same when I installed it. The float actually hits the gasket on the carb body.Anybody have a way to search for the needle by the carb number itself. I can't seem to be able too. Naturally the old needle can't be found....
