Serious oil leak Cub Cadet GT2554 Kohler engine.
Hello, I have a serious oil leak that appears to be coming from the bearing/seal behind the clutch PTO pulley. Does anyone know if the seal/bearing can be changed without taking the motor apart. Any help would be great.

It can be, but it has to be done carefully. There is a risk of scratching the crankshaft, which could be expensive to fix.

If you've got a seal leaking switching to heavier oil will not solve the problem and may actually harm the engine. It's best to just bite the bullet and replace the seal and run the correct oil.

The seal was hard rubber so I just screwed in 2 self tapping screws and pulled it out. Lightly tapped the new seal (evenly) with a plastic pipe and no more oil leak.
