Our mower (which I hate with every fiber in my body). Went about 10 yards today and then stopped. It starts fine and runs fine but it will not go forward or backwards. The brake seems kind of strange. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Sounds like the transmission belt popped off a pulley.

I once had a small segment of the clutch linkage break, rendering the same immobility, until I had someone weld it back up.
