Noisy exhaust on Craftsman riding mowwer

It's been a year since this unit has been running. Just had the carburetor replaced and it runs smooth again. However, I don't recall it being so damn loud. Even the guy who fixed it for me commented that its a very loud machine. The muffler is in good shape. No holes or rusted out areas. It's all put together properly.

My question is it possible to get another muffler that will quite this down a few notches?

Hello Norm201,

For some reason Craftsman machines have always been louder than others, Any muffler can be installed with some fab work but there's limited space in the front where most are mounted.

Good Luck

The key word here is fab. I was hoping somebody would say there is an aftermarket unit available. I usually wear ear protect headphones and listen to recorded music or some such thing. But even with those I can't listen to anything. I just don't remember it being that loud.
