hard start

hard start

I have a sears 22hp twin It starts well the first time ,when i shut off it will not start ,it feels like it ishaving a hard time to spin the fly wheel,battery fully charged new starter.it will start if boosted any help would be wekcomed

Hello patrick1956,


Sounds like it's time for a valve adjustment, There's a mechanical compression release on the cam that aids in start-up. Without a engine model-type and code number posted, I can't give the proper procedure to do so.
