.... small 800w generator

This here.

Is it safe to mix 4 gallons of gas/13 ounces of oil (40:1) in the can, then fill the generator with this premix? I figure I could mix it that way to save time on refills since it only can hold about 1 gallon at a time.

Sorry if this seems like an obvious question, but I've never used a 2-cycle engine before and have no idea on their limits.

I premix all my 2 cycle engine gas. You might want to use some Stabill or Seafaoam to help maintain the integrity of the gas over long periods of time.

I too premix all my 2 cycle fuel. I use a premium synthetic 2 cycle oil that includes a fuel stabilizer and use it in all my 2 cycle equipment.

Premixing fuel is fine but I'm not sure if I'd make up a 5 gallon batch at one time. I'd be worried about the oil and gas separating and needing to be remixed. Tough to shake a 5 gallon can.

Thanks. I didn't think to take the weight into consideration.
