MTD Yard- man, lawn tractor drive belt change

Hello! I have a MTD Yard-man riding lawn tractor that I am trying to change the drive belt on. It is a 604 model series , auto drive, model 13Bu604G501.

The problem I am having involves removing the electric PTO clutch, When I am turning the hex bolt the pulley spins, and I can not see anyway to keep it from turning!

Any suggestion or solutions would be helpful!

If you do not have an owner's manual, here is a link.

Yes I do. Thank you for your reply. Any ideas what the problem might be?

Hard to tell from the parts sheet but there is usually a bolt head on the blade side of the deck and a nut on the top of the pulley. Wrenching both should break it loose.

You'll need an impact gun or put a good length of pull rope into a spark plug hole to jam the piston from coming all the way up to block the engine from turning.
