Craftsman riding mower won't shift
With my fix-it hubby in Africa for most of the summer, our Craftsman mower that he's been babying along has decided not to start. I'm no mechanic, but I'm willing and able to learn - I fixed our fridge last time he went out of town - just me and Google 
. I'm wondering if this is a transaxle problem? It starts (but makes an intermittent grinding sound), and won't go forward or backward. At all. Like it doesn't even register that I'm moving the lever.
Ideas? I'd love to impress him with a running mower and a trimmed lawn when he gets home.
