Can chainsaw fuel line be replaced w/o splitting the case?

Can chainsaw fuel line be replaced w/o splitting the case?

Yesterday I bought a new-looking Poulan 2000 chainsaw for $10 at a garage sale. Got it cheap because I couldn't start it. Once home I dumped out the old fuel and the fuel line fell out in tiny pieces. Does the case have to be split or is there a trick to replacing the tube?

No you don't have to split it. Just cut the end of the line into a slender "V" shape long enough to thread it through the casing. Then pull the line through and cut it to length.

Awesome. I'll try that first if I can get out all the hard old tube.
