white smoke each time engine started

I start the gine maybe once every 3 or 4 weeks and it seems to throw out white smoke for about 5 seconds before it clears up - is this normal?

What kind of engine? Sounds like a little oil is burning off, doubt it's a big deal IMO.

Smell the ooil in the engine... does it smell like gas? Look at the top of the muffler before you start it... it it wet with leaked oil?

White smoke often means moisture - is it a humid environment?
