LTX1045 Cub Cadet lawn tractor
i have a ltx1045 cub cadet tractor. Tractor starts up fine but when engaging blades the engine dies.
The blades will only engage when switching the key in reverse mode.

Thanks Cheese. Have a hydra static transmission. Does this matter? Just not sure where to start. Did get schematic today. I guess what threw me off was when you indicated at the shifter. Maybe i was not clear but tractor starts fine, bring up the idle and try to engage the manual Blade engage and tractor dies. But if i switch the key to reverse mode then engage the blades it is fine? Thanks for responding

Doesn't matter if it's hydro or not, there is a metal tab switch at the slot where the shifter goes back and forth. It touches the shifter handle and grounds if I recall correctly. It could be bent and grounded, or one of the wires pinched, or...?
