Honda HR214 push mower no spark

I've got an old Honda push mower doesn't appear to have many hours on it. If i put a screw driver up into the spark plug wire and pull the rope starter it will light you up. Funny thing is if you put the spark plug in it no spark at all. Not even if you hold the plug touching against the engine or not. I have tested the plug in diff mowers and I have tried diff plugs in the Honda and nothing. The only way it will shock you is if you put a screw driver in the plug wire. Never have had this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you have at least some fire but it's not getting to the plug. Use a screwdriver to bend the tabs in the spark plug boot to make sure they clamp hard on the plug. If that doesn't help replace the spark plug boot.

Thanks for the reply. The first thing I did was to make sure the end was crimping down good on the spark plug. It's also nice and clean down inside. Thinking about just getting another coil.
