Simplicity Landlord Wheel Bearings

I have a 1968 Landlord that really needs to have the front wheel bearings re-packed this winter. The wheels are held in place with a collar secured by an allen screw to the spindle. These allen screws are frozen in the collars. Heating them with a torch does a great job of taking out more of the grease from the wheel bearings and does nothing to help remove the bolts. What can I heat these up with that won't destroy anything else in the process?

You may have to cut them off. Heat is going to make the grease run. Try putting a punch in the bottom of the set screws and give it a good sharp blow with a hammer a few times. Sometimes this frees them up.

I thought I might get this done before it snowed, but too late. I will try the hammer and punch as soon as the temperature gets back above single digits!
