42 in. troy built mower deck help
my deck belt stopped turning the 2 blades .
took deck off --a spring to the pulley break bracket had broken . have bought a new spring but cant figure out how just by replacing that spring would engage the idler pulley which puts tension on the deck belt to make the blades turn. What am I nmissing here ? If anyone could help with this & nees pictures of what I am talking about ,I will attempt to send .

I don't think a broken blade brake spring is causing your problem. It might help if we know what mower you have.

42 in Troy built twin cylinder, super bronco model # 13at609g766.
there is no spring attached to the deck idler pulley now -- cant figure out what depresses the idler pulley to tighten the deck belt to make the blades turn .appears something is missing or broke ??

#12 in this diagram is the PTO cable. It has a spring on one end and attaches to the tensioner arm. If this cable is broken, it will not tighten the blade belt.
