How to Adjust Unloader Valve w/o Pressure Gauge

I just replaced the unloader valve on a pressure washer. The pump now seems to be in the bypass-only mode: no water comes out of the pump. The pump is an RMW 2G23 made by Annovi Reverberi. The unloader valve has an internal hex adjusting screw with a lock nut. I don't have a pressure gauge suitable for this job. The pump pressure is supposed to be 2000 psi. I'm wondering if there are some general rules of thumb for this unloader valve. Like if you start with the adjusting screw turned all the way out the pressure is xxx psi and each additional turn equals so many additional psi? Or is there some other guideline I can follow to set the pressure trip point?

Have you made sure the pump outlet, hose and wand are not stopped up. Have a good one. Geo

Pump outlet is fine--I removed the detergent injector assembly and there is no blockage or crud. Hose and wand are clear; I can easily blow through them. I just replaced the wand last season so it's basically brand new. What next??
