5 hp Briggs hoizontal carbs.

I have several old carbs. with a steel pin near the adjusting screw. On the newer carbs this pin goes into the gas tank. Is this pin for anti-corrosion or what?

I don't know of a pin near an adjusting screw but there is one on the bottom that extends into the fuel tank. I think it's there to insure that the tank is put on in correct orientation.

The older carbs before, about 85, had two tubes. The short one went into the upper tank where the newer
style is molded aluminum. If you go to the site I have listed you will see these. The pin on the older style
does not enter the tank. I have seen these on the 3hp as well.
