BP Blower starts only w/no choke

Echo PB-602 Backpack Blower will ONLY cold start with the choke OPEN. Once it's warmed up, it runs fine.

This is the reverse of the common partially clogged carb, "starving for fuel" issues where the machine runs better with the choke partially closed.

Strangely, my friend's Stihl bower started doing the exact same thing yesterday??

What problem does this scenario typically suggest??

TIA

Not a lot really. You can take it just about any direction. The carb is flooding slightly which compensates for the choke, or the air is warmer, or the machine has been sitting in the sun, or the machine was shut off and spun a fuel load in that it didn't burn, etc, etc.

My take on it is pretty simple - if it starts and runs OK, don't worry about how you got there.

Thanks marbobj.

After the lawn tractor did the same thing today, I realized, it's friggin summer -- and I'm probably making more of this that it deserves. I just needed a quick slap in the face. It really was a long, cold winter.
