Murray lawn tractor: dies when clutch is let out

Hello,

I have a Murray lawn tractor, model 425001x8B.

It dies when I let the clutch out.

Checked the 3 switches for continuity. All 3 check out.

I have removed and re-installed the switches multiple times, with no luck. Then, once, it kept running when I let the clutch out (so I cut the grass). The next day, it was back to dying when the clutch was let out.
If I keep the clutch/brake switch depressed by hand, the clutch can be let out.

It seems the PTO and clutch/brake switches don't seat terribly firmly in their respective slots (which are cut right in to the frame).

Would appreciate any help.

I have found two available switches, but would like to get help before ordering 2 switches.

Thanks in advance.

That is usually a seat switch problem. Often it's a problem with it not plugging on tight enough to activate the micro switch in the connector (if your model has that).

The seat switch appears to be connected properly. Not sure how else to seat it. Any ideas?

Plug it in and check continuity open/close by sticking the probes in the back o fthe connector.
