i have a husqvarna e series 137 chainsaw that i just got and it is very hard to start and when it starts i try to give it gas but it wont rev up i changed the spark plug and i put a new fuel filter in it and i put fresh fuel in it and it will only stay running for about 10 seconds then it dies could it be the carburetor?

It would be the fuel system and most likely the carburetor. Things like the fuel filter, crank seals, gaskets, gas lines, and plugged cap vents are all possibilities, but about 90 % of the time it's the carb needing rebuilt, which means a kit put in it. Or, as a lot of members here bring up frequently just replace the carb considering the low cost.

Yes, probably the carb. Did you get it new or used?
