2000 Murrary Ridding Lawn Tractor - yoke, shift cutting into idle pully

I have a 2000 Murray ridding lawn tractor model number 42514x8A. I been looking all over to find out where the yoke/ shifter is to touch the idle pulley when switching gears. Right now my shifter tab is cutting into my plastic idle pulley. I have replaced it once. I think this causing issues with shifting to different gears. Anyone know where the shifter is to touch the idle pulley when shifting gears?

It isn't supposed to touch it anywhere. If it does, either the belt is too long or thin and the idler is moving too far to take up the slack, or something is bent.

I can change the belt. How would I tell if something is bent, looks to be okay?

Where is the shifter yoke to touch to move the idle pulley?
