Problem with moving deck on Simplicity Landlord

I have a Simplicity Landlord and can no longer move the deck down. It has an electrical switch to raise and lower the deck.

I was having problems such that when the switch to lower the deck was held too long, the engine quit. If I lifted the deck some, I could again start the machine.

Now, the deck is in the up position and will not lower. Should I be looking at a solenoid? All info appreciated. Mike.

Do you hear the motor running or no? Have you checked for power at the motor while raising/lowering?

Get an owner's manual to verify the deck lift system. It could be electrical, electrical motor/hydraulic or mower engine/hydraulic. Let me know and I will try to help you.
