Rust in Lawn Mower Engine?

I am looking at a used Honda lawnmower that has surface rust from sitting outside unused for a few years. It also had stale gas in the tank. The owner replaced the carburetor. It has the Honda GCV190 engine. What issues, rust or otherwise, could be expected inside the engine? Isn't the engine block aluminum?

There shouldn't be much to worry about if it's running. If the inside was rusted, you probably wouldn't be able to rotate the engine.
