I bought a Jiffy Model 30 Ice Auger from a friend..the LME37 Walbro 631564 diaphragm carb was leaking gas. I installed a new carb kit and it still leaks gas as well as flooding the engine. Two different sets of instructions tell you to either place the diaphragm on the carb body first than the gasket and cover and visa versa. I tried both ways and it didn't make any difference.
I have been trying to find a new carb or better yet a bowl type replacement and have had no luck. I think that the needle in this carb is too long and is holding the fuel inlet open even without using the throttle thus flooding the engine. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or better yet where I can get a replacement carburetor?

Gasket first, then diaphragm. For a two stroke ice auger, I don't know if there would be a float bowl carb.

Marbobj's got the assembly order right. I've got the same ice auger, and a bowl-type carb won't work well because of the different operating angles the engine will be in- like a chain saw but not as extreme. Sounds like you're on the right track. If I remember right (LOL), I had to experiment with the carb to get it dialed in, last time I had it apart. Not sure where you're from, but there's not much hard water fishing here this winter. Good luck, Steve

Thanks for the link on the Chinese carb----I have sent them an email to see if this carb will fit my Jiffy. This diaphragm carb I have is garbage----had it apart 3 times to no avail. Here's hoping they have a carb that will fit...I'll let you know and for others with the same problem.
