Tips after installing a new carburator
I just put in a new carb on my 2-stroke weed eater. Fresh gas and a good spark plug. It started, ran for 30 seconds or so and quit. After that it would only run for a few seconds.
Are there some things I should consider? cleaning out the new carb? adjusting idle screw? just guessing here.
Thanks

The first thing I suspect is that the fuel lines are reversed or the filter fell off the supply line and you picked up unfiltered fuel that clogged the screen in the carburetor or the fuel filter is coming apart (especially if this is a weedeater/poulan brand) and material from it is clogging the carb.
A cracked fuel line is also possible, or water in the gas, or a bad primer if it has a remote primer. Does the primer move fuel through the system like it should?
No need to "keep trying"... it has no bowl and the lines should be full if the primer is working.
