Scott's Model 42589X8 Riding Mower won't move after changing tire

I was removing the rear right tire to put a tube in it and tapped on the axel end to loosen it. In hindsight, I realize this was a BIG mistake, as I think I may have pushed it in about a 1/4 to half inch. So, when I put the tire back on, the mower will not move forward or backward.

I've checked the tire key is in place and the drive belt as well. I'm hoping I have not done irreparable damage and that there's an simple fix, such as pulling the axel back into position.

Look under the area where you pulled the wheel off and look in the area where you put the wheel afterwards. Somewhere there is a small piece of keystock that fell out. There is a slot in the axle and a slot int he wheel where this key goes. It's a common problem when people don't know it's there and it falls out.
