Trying to find valve clearances on MTD push mower.

Trying to find valve clearances on MTD push mower.

The model number sticker on the mower is:

11A-08MA029

When i go to the MTD website, the listing for that model says that the engine is:

PowerMore 752Z1P61P0 123cc

Trying to find what the valve clearances should be, so i can adjust them. I couldn't find them by searching google. Thanks for any help.

It appears that you found the answer on another forum. .005 for intake and exhaust.

.005 is sufficient clearance for almost any solid lifter valve system.

Lawn mower surging

Hi, I got a hand me down lawn mower a couple years ago and it always surged when running. I finally got to cleaning the carb as I always thought was the issue, changed all the gaskets (two were rotten) put it all together and now it surges WORSE. It was liveable before, now it's certainly not. Second carb cleaning this year, second one that goes bad :) From what I read, the jet would generally be the problem but I've cleaned the jet twice now, along with the other rod thats in there. All the holes seem clean. I tried running carb cleaner while it's running into the air intake to clean anything which I read could help but no luck. I tried to spray carb cleaner over the parts that should be sealed to ensure no leak and I did not get any different type of noise to show there was a leak. Need help with auto choke on Honda GCV160

I have a Honda GCV160AO MX4 R280, 1st I will confess I do little work on Honda's as I have limited access to parts diagrams. I have removed the carb on this machine to find that the black plastic bracket behind the carb which I believe controls the auto choke is broken. I need 2 things the PN# for this bracket and if anyone has a close up pic of this carb in place on engine. When I replace I am not sure if the knob on choke plate (top of carb) goes in front or behind the lever on the choke control. Hope this makes sense ! thanks in advanceRead More
