craftsman 917.271022 15.5 hp fuel related no start
I have spark replace carb 2 years ago ran for a couple of times then would not start again .. good fuel(not old) new spark plug new battery new carb new fuel lines new fuel filter.. can run it on starter fluid so long as spraying it but cuts out right away when stopped... is this a fuel pump or solenoid issue? thanks for help in advance

It certainly sounds like a fuel issue. It could be a fuel pump, clogged fuel line, sticking anti-backfire (afterfire) solenoid or simply a dirty or clogged carburetor. I would start at the fuel tank and follow the fuel's path and make sure everything is good along the way.

You don't have a fuel pump. It could be the solenoid...to test it, clamp or disconnect and plug the fuel line, remove the solenoid and drain the bowl of fuel. Plug the solenoid back in and turn the key to run and see if the plunger retracts.
If it tests good then it is likely a carb issue, could be stuck needle valve, clogged jet......
