Briggs E & EX series engines

I am starting to see Briggs E & EX engines on a somewhat frequent basis. This week I had three of them come in. They were on Poulan, Murray and Troybilt mowers. Nothing major -- 1. broken recoil cord, 2. carb clogged from sitting, 3. someone poured a whole quart of oil in the engine. Not a lot of parts to stock on these engines.

This stuff is getting so junky there won't be such a thing as an "old" lawnmower anymore. The carbs are plastic with something like sheet metal screws holding them together with no real threads. I hate the disposable product society we've created.

"The carbs are plastic with something like sheet metal screws holding them together with no real threads."

That reminds me of Lawnboy 30 years ago.

Lol, yeah, you have a point there! I didn't like those either! There are a step down from those, but still...
