Toro personal pace rear drive mower question

I need help with my model 20066 mower. I'm replacing the rear drive transmission and don't remember how the drive gears go on.I see both are stamped L and R, How do they go on ? Thanks Bob in Wichita.

On the right side, turn the R out and on the left side, turn the L out.

Confused,with rear transmission drive direction.

I installed a new transmission in my Toro #20066 personal pace mower. With the rear axle thrust washers and drive gears locked and ready to put on the engine,I was surprised when turning the transmission pulley clockwise the axle turned backward.I know the engine runs clockwise,so it obvious the transmission would do the same.I'm very confused.Bob in Wichita

I'm not confused,just plain stupid.

I was showing my Son my mower dilemma, when he asked "where are the wheels".That was what I was not thinking about! I installed them and they Turned the correct direction. I guess that's why you learn by doing.
