Question on Kawasaki engine

What do the suffixes mean for engine identification? My guess is that it may have something to do with various crankshaft configurations - maybe? I have a FC540-BS00 engine in a Deere tractor. Just trying to understand what the suffixes mean. Thanks.

Tell me about a FERRIS Mower

I hve a Kubota Diesel with 700 hrs on it.. Last month I put a started, replaced the manifold which broke. Been having cut problems wore the middle washers on the spindle down to it would not cut. I'm about ready for a new mower. I have been looking at a IS3200 Ferris. The cut and ride is suppose to be so great. It has a 37hp Vanguard. It has a 4 year warranty for everything excepts belts. They give you 400 hrs a year for 4 years. Price on this mower is $10,999.00 Now all that seems pretty STRONG.. I have never heard about a Ferris no dealer in my town.
