Honda GX390 compression leak

I have a honda GX390 where compression pushes threw the valve cover pvc tube with oil. I first changed the head gasket, which was fine, than i ran a compression test with the exhaust valve disconected, and im getting 70-75 psi with leak down(leaking). My question is, can it be the head, or is the engine scraped. The motor has 300 hrs on it, small tracter.
Thank you guys
John

Put some oil in the cylinder and see if it keeps leaking as badly.

That's a pretty bullet proof engine, I wouldn't think the engine is junk but you never know. What happened prior to this? Did this happen all of a sudden? Run low on oil? Etc...
