Honda Harmony Clutch Cable does not stay engaged
I have a Honda harmony lawn mower model number HRR2162SDA. I'm trying to replace the clutch cable. The installation was completed but every time i test the cable by pulling on the handle, the end hook that connects it to the clutch lever under the deck comes off. There is no locking device like a notch or a hole for a cotter pin and the hook fits loosely. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it a hook or a z-bend on the cable end that comes loose?
If a hook and spring, possibly installed 180 degrees out and something comes in contact to dislodge it.
Hole could be split and opens under tension...

It's like a slot that slides over a half moon lever. See the picture of the cable at the following link at Amazon:

I probably misspoke when I said hook. It's the opposite end that has a slot that slides over the arm under the deck. Please see the picture of the cable at the following link at Amazon:
