Locating recovered spring on B & S engine
I have a Craftsman model 944.36210 Rotar Lawn Mower 725 Series Briggs & Stratton Engine model 128M05-0129-F1.
I was replacing the starter assembly but the I found a spring on the ground during the clean up. I have taken its picture see the attachment below.
The only difference I saw on the lawn mower is that it is hard to start from cold otherwise everything works perfect.
Can someone tell me how to locate where the spring came off?

Welcome to the forums.
It's the air vane spring. Part of the governor. I believe it's located under the flywheel cover.
