Chainsaw issue

I have a stihl ms170 chainsaw that was given to me because it would not start. Turns over when spraying starting fluid in the carb. Took the carb apart and cleaned it but it still wont stay running so i replaced it along with the fuel filter and fuel line. Any advice?

The biggest issue is almost always related to someone not using the proper fuel-oil ratio in the gas tank. Try dumping out all the fuel and start with a fresh mixture... 50:1. Did you get a new diaphragm kit for it? Looked it up... $6.88 online.

I have a buddy that got a "like new" Stihl blower for free out of a jobsite dumpster... homeowner said it wouldn't run and that he could have it. My buddy dumped the gas out, put a fresh mix in, and voila...

Maybe you just need to adjust the needle(s) to supply a little more fuel?
