Hello: newboy

A starting point is to know the brand name of the engine and the mowers manufacturers name.

Some place riveted on the chassis and or mower decking is a manufacturers name and information plate. Once you locate this plate, it will have the information you want.

Located on the engine will also be a plate with information on the engine.

Good Luck,

My first guess would be a Briggs and Stratton engine, so I would contact them or visit their website:

http://www.briggsandstratton.com

I would also contact Murray for more help:

http://www.murrayinc.com

Both should be helpful in helping to pin down what you have.

Good luck.
