Kohler Command engine noise

Question concerns a Kohler command 16 HP engine that has an intermittent lifter noise. Seems as though this noise occurs during colder temps and disappears when the weather is above 60 degrees Fahrenheit

Using Kohler 10W30 and a Kohler oil filter. When the noise occurs, it will last about 7-10 mins and then quiet to a normal engine sound. Was wondering if a synthetic blend oil would assist in quieting this noise

I've tried marvel mystery oil, but noise is still present in cooler temps. Have read articles mentioning a kit that could rectify this issue. Has anyone heard of this kit?

Is there a possibility of air getting into the lifters from time to time? Has anyone experienced this issue and have found a solution.

Thanks

I would start by adjusting the valves on it. It may be at a threshold that gets crossed with temperature of the engine parts. An adjustment may take care of it.

If it comes back there may be something with the cam, but valve adjusting is usually a maintenance thing.

It' got hydraulic lifters, no adjustments. It's pretty common on these and really harmless but if you don't like it, the lifters can be replaced with head removal. Possibly some lucas oil might help keep them pumped up. What happens is the engine shuts down with a valve open and the valve spring is pushing against the lifter. The engine is off for days weeks, and the lifter leaks down. Then you crank it up and it has slack until it pumps back up again.
