Drive Chain Lubrication

What are your favorite choices for lubrication the Wheel Drive Chains on a Toro HMR1600 Tractor? I have just cleaned them in Degreaser and Kerosene. I have lubricated them in the past with chain a cable fluid but it seems to collect a LOT of dirt and greasy grime. Something better maybe? Liquid Graphite? (works well on Bendix grives)

Kohler twin starts with backfire every time

i rebuilt a 16 Hp kohler twin (1989) new pistons valves, guides, rings, bored and cross hatched professionally. last winter. Now when I start it, I get one big backfire that has the neighbors calling me when I start it, It does start, and runs normally after the initial noise. I am not sure where to start to track down why it is doing this. Carb has new gas with Seafoam in it, Hate to go after the valve adjustment again, unless I have too. Ideas/

Model# 441777-0130-B1 What's the black plastic piece called that sits above the butterfly that has 5 holes in it? Is it prone to go bad? It won't start without starting fluid and sometimes that doesn't work. I am getting gas, spark and someone already cut the tip off the solenoid so that shouldn't be it. Two weeks ago, started it with starting fluid and it ran great for 3 hours. Yesterday, I could only keep it running with fluid. Any ideas? Thanks
