Honda Easy Start Mower Not So Easy

I have a Honda Easy start mower that is about 4 years old and has given me fits after the 1st summer. I can usually get it started but have to fight with it every time. It seems like it has trouble getting fuel into it initially but after 10-15 minutes of pulling the cord it starts and stays running. It stays running so good that it won't cut off, I usually have to stall it out or cut off the fuel line to stop it. Its been mostly a nuisance but if there was a clear thing to attack I'm game to chase it. Any ideas are appreciated.

Honda's are very picky about their spark plug, don't know why, first try replacing the spark plug and see if anything changes. Have a good one. Geo

Possibly if as you described and I interpret, since you say it will not shut off, I would suspect your Operator presence bar/cable is sticking.

It might keep it from getting spark on starting then fail to ground the mag on release.

Your auto choke might also be in question for the starting.
