Kohler cv22-67515 with smart spark - coils
I have a kohler cv22-67515 with smart spark in the shop only running on one cylinder. Supposedly the correct coil was a 24-584-36-s. However that is wrong as it is too big. The correct coil measures 1 3/4 in from point near flywheel straight back to the end. 24-584-36-s measure 2 3/16 in and doesnt fit. The back of the -36 coil is hitting the intake manifold. I will try to get the correct coil however can I grind away enough of the coil to make it fit and then elongate the mounting holes to get the proper adjustment ?????

On a coil - not a good idea IMHO. If you get the fit without going through a winding you may still get an arc to ground where you did the grinding.
I'd wait on the right coil.
