Tanaka gas trimmer...hard to start.
Ihttps://www.amazon.com/Tanaka-TCG22E.../dp/B003JTGNQ4
mine has a few years on it though and this is the first issue that's come up. Up until this year, the trimmer will start without fail if the starting instructions are followed. That too, with minimal effort...no excessive pulling on the rope. Starts on first or second pull. No noticeable smoke.
Now lately, I can't get it to start ...in the normal way.
After going through the starting sequence, and it fails to start...if I remove the plug, and give it a few pulls, then replace the plug, open the air filter and the choke. It will start, then slowly at first, with blue smoke...when the smoke clears, then it'll be ready to cut. If I throttle it while its smoking, it will die, but will restart without too much hassle.
can anyone point me in the right direction, to correct issue?

It sounds like you're getting some leakage past the valve on the fuel reservoir. You could just replace the carburetor which about as cheap as putting a kit in the one you have.
For now try starting it with half or no choke and full throttle.
