I have a Simplicity Model 7010 #1690333 Tractor that i use primarily for Snow Removal. I was getting it ready for this season and while doing a battery recharge and test. my tester indicated that i was only getting about 12.5 volts of charge while the engine (Kohler 241S) was running. I checked the service manual, and there were 4 options for charging systems available on this engine. If it has "battery ignition" is is supposed to have either a motor generator, or 3 different output sized alternators. since I do not have an alternator that I can see, I,m guessing that it has the starting motor that is also the generator. I do not have a rating for the output this generator is supposed to produce. It would seem to me that this existing starter motor would not work in reverse as it has a bendix drive rather than being a belt drive. If the battery is being charged from the coils mounted behind the flywheel, what is the output rating supposed to be, and how to I increasei it if possible?

We have a Honda Generator model EB3500X that the AC circuit breaker trips when the power cord is plugged in but has no load on it. What could this be? We tried a friends generator and it worked just fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
