I have an older model Lawn Boy lawn mower. It was cutting the lawn fine, then it suddenly just coughs and dies. It will restart after a few pulls but soon dies out again? Any suggestions?

Start with a good once over on the unit.

Change the spark plug, the oil and make sure the filter is clean and the choke/linkage is working correctly.

Assuming you bought it used, it could probably use some servicing...

small engine/lawnboy

on most lawnboys 2cycles you must make sure that oil an gas is mix properly . there are port hole underneath the muffler that get stop up from exhaust carbons,if the exhaust pan {muffler}have not been clean in some time this is the place to start.remove blade,3 bolts in pan, then you will see the 3 port holes.safety remove plug 1st. carb setting is1-1/2 to2 turns from seat. counterclock wise.
