Sorry for the double post but i just figured out how to start a thread.
Last year i got a good deal on a Poulan Pro 50cc with a 20in bar. The true value was closing down.
so i took the saw home mixed up some fuel and started it. I have to say it really didn’t seem to want to start but it did after a lot of pulling. So i drained it and put it away as I didn’t have any wood that needed attention. Now a year later that sucker just will not start. Put in fresh fuel and pull and pull and pull until I’m lightheaded.
Is it possible that there was a little fuel left that gummed up the carb. When i try to prime it I never see fuel in the little bulb. Is that normal? Is taking it apart and cleaning the carb something that i can do, I’m not the most handy person in the world.
I did call about a service and that starts at $75. So if i can do it so much the better.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
I have a 16hp Briggs and Stratton Model 303447 Type 1375E1. This engine is part of a carpet cleaning truckmount which initially was powering a pump and blower. I removed the pump so now only the blower is attached. It will start up and run for 5 to 10 mins and then stall. No sputtering or backfiring. I changed coil, spark, air fileter, oil, gas tank & cap and filter and cleaned carb but did not do full rebuild. After it dies it will start up and run for a minute or less with the choke on. After a few attempts it wont start up until it cools down.
