Craftman 10hp snowblower stalls putting the cover on .

Just replaced the wire on the kill switch because it was frayed and acting up wouldnt allow it to start. Now...working great with the cover off..but stalls as soon as I put the cover on . unabe to see any wires in contact with the cover causing a ground..any ideas?

Do you have the plastic key in the little rectangle hole?

The metal cover may be intermittently shorting the kill wire to ground while installing cover. Try installing the cover without engine running. If engine won't start with the cover installed, you changed some configuration during the rework. There is interference where the cover and kill wire are normally in close quarters.

Thanks guys with a little more trying this and that...knowing the cover wasnt grounding anything realized inside the cover was another kill switch for the light...it was faulty just disconnected it and working fine wont use it in the dark anyway. Frustrating and confusing was probably the issue to begin with..but at least the other frayed wire has been repaired.
