Generator wont turn over
Hi everyone, I have an Asian generator which seems to be a copy of a Honda. It stood for a long time. I have cleaned it out, cleaned the carb and changed the oil. Before changing the oil, the key start would not work. Afterwards the key turned the engine for a while then stopped turning it. I have tested the oil sensor and get a 3 mega ohm reading. I disconnected it to test and still nothing. What else could be wrong?

I have a brand new battery. But I managed to get it running last night. I took the coil off. Cleaned everything. There was a bit of rust on the surface of the magnet. I clean that off. Reset the clearances. First fed fuel straight into the carb instead of through the bottom and off she went. Thanks very much for your response.
