Craftsman weedwacker 316791080. Starting / running issue

hello

So quick overview of my issue

weedwacker 8-9 years old .. wasnít used very much but ran fine .. I left it outside by mistake for 2 days and it rained.

I let it dry and try to start , it started but was spitting rusty water out of exhaust. It would that boggle down once throttled .. I changed out Carb and lines. I still have boggle issues which I tried to adjust carb etc. Once it ran for about 5 minutes , it than shuts off and gets very very hot

Now Iím having a hard time. Starting it up.

Any my issues on what should be checked ?

Thanks a lot !!

Take off the muffler and check it for blockage, especially the spark arrestor. The latter is a little screen either inside or before the muffler coming out of the exhaust port.

It sounds like the muffler was on it's last legs and the rain just pushed it over the edge.

The rain could have saturated the air filter and is not letting the engine breath. Have a good one. Geo

Craftsman gas powered equipment is pretty krappy, years ago if I got a 5 years out of their leaf blowers I was lucky, if you got 8-9 years I certainly would not put much into it.

Grab a Harbor Freight 25% off coupon and hit Home Depot this weekend and get a nice Echo, you will never regret!
