What rpm for YTD mower?

I have a YTD lawn mower, model #11A-549p713. The rpm is low and not sure what to set it at. I feel it can over rev if I set it too high and it has some kind of idle control that varies the rpm but it keeps it too low.

It sounds like your governor has problems or the linkages are not correct. The governor should keep it around 3200 rpm at full throttle.

Again thanks.

FWIW, rpm or speed control for lawn mover should always be at highest rpm when actual cutting takes place, but a slow speed is OK for non cutting travel. This mainly applies to a riding mower. Same applies to snowblower use.
