Craftsman rider steering

Have a craftsman rider 917.288561 that I can't get to align. Turning hard left or right,
the left wheel will turn in to almost 90 degrees while the right keeps the correct track. Have replaced spindles, drag links and spindles (left side seemed bent). Cut and shortened left drag link and added adjustable (threaded) ball joint. Axle has very little play, steering shaft gear and sector gear have about 10 degrees side to side movement, wheels themselves have almost none. I'm 61 and bald, have no hair to pull out so I hope for some help!
THANKS TO ALL OUR VETERANS!!!

I had one of those recently with that problem. It was the plastic bushings in the cast iron axle front end. They aren't offered without buying the whole thing though. They were worn enough to let the kingpins rock back and that changed the way the links pulled on them, making them either splay out or toe in.

I looked through several models that use that axle (old part number) until I found the part number
