Craftsman Snowblower Smoking at Exhaust model 247.886912

Hello, we have a craftsman snowblower model 247.886912 26 inch electric start 208cc engine. It worked fine last year. Just took it out of the shed and moved into the garage for the snow season. It is spitting oil out of the exhaust. We checked the oil level and it is correct. What would be the next step? Sears are pretty much non existent near us anymore so we can't use the warranty very easily.

Did you leave gas in it over the "off" season?

If it ran well when you parked it last year, change the oil, put in fresh gas and let it run until the smoke clears out. Then see where you're at.

After season storage instructions typically call for removing the sparkplug and pouring in a tablespoon or so of oil. Did you perhaps over do it? I agree with the earlier post on running it for a while, but check the oil first to make certain your level is sufficient.

Also, you didn't, by chance, use a 2-stroke mixture.

Was it stored on the wheels, or the repair position [handles up] ?
